Try the two piece Tankini Swimwear

Women's swimwear has been changing fast and plus size two piece bathing suits are better than they've ever been. This is partly due to the change in bathing suits from having only two options –the bikini and the one-piece—to having entire wardrobes of separates available for mixing and matching. New suit styles include the tankini, the skirtini and the boy short and bra combination called the shortini.

The tankini is a big favorite among plus size two piece bathing suits because it's so flexible a style. It's a tank top over a bikini bottom, and it meets with favor among teens as well as adult women. The tank top covers much more easily than a bikini top, so it's easy to do water sports, volleyball and play on the beach without always having to check, readjust or swim for your top. The tank stays put, which women of all ages love, because it frees them to have fun instead of always worrying about the top part of the bathing suit. The other great thing about the tankini that is especially appealing to more mature women is that the midriff isn't exposed. Sunburn is minimized and you don't have to spend as much time worrying about whether everything is flat and sucked in. Plus size two piece bathing suits have in the past been awful, squared off suits designed to cover, not to accentuate. Today's styles are perfect for plus size women who want to get in the water and have some fun.

Where the tankini uses bikini bottoms and a tank top, the shortini uses shorts for the bottoms and the bikini bra top. This is a good suit for giving the wearer additional coverage on the bottom, which most women appreciate. For a modest look, a shortini is a compromise, with coverage on the bottom and a freer look on the top. A great injustice for women at the beach is that, while men stride freely around in loose, high-coverage trunks, women cower in little bits of string and carefully monitored triangles designed to provide minimum coverage and allowing for minimal movement. Today's women aren't going to sit still for a suit that won't stay put, and the shortini is one example of new freedom at the pool. If you're going to get a shortini, there are options available for keeping that bra top where it should be and making the most of what you have.

Swimsuits now include underwire bras more often than not, which help to shape and support. If you want to maximize your top, a halter style is a good way to do it: a suit strap that wraps around the neck and contains support can considerably add to the neckline of your suit and its overall look. Plus, in swimming, halters stay in place better than the typical bra top. Tummy control is also available in better suits, and it can make a big difference in the confidence you feel in your new swimsuit. Teens and juniors shouldn't have a monopoly on flat-front bathing suits as long as there are modern fabrics to provide holding power to the rest of us!

You can make any swim suit into a two-piece just by adding a pair of shorts or a skirt, and with today's emphasis on separates, they don't even have to match. Pair a flowered top with a black bottom (or the other way around) and you have a stylish suit. One upside is that you can collect tops and bottoms individually, increasing your bathing suit wardrobe a little at a time as you find just the right pieces. You can pair a sexy, crochet tank with a pair of microfiber swim shorts for a now-you-see-it, now-you-don't kind of look. Try trendy, sarong style skirt bottoms with matching bra tops or a tank top with swim shorts for a fun, modern but high coverage swimsuit.
